the new album by the slate pipe banjo draggers is now available on the records and buying page. it is called powder cagers and there are ideas within the album which are based around eyesight, food, communication and personal incidents of the previous two years. these ideas are situated throughout the song titles, artwork, recorded sounds and finished songs.

the things with wings album by the inhibitionists has been regarded by bbc radio 3's mixing it programme as one of their favourite alternative music releases of 2006. congratulations to christian.

after no updates for a while a new release is now available on the records and buying page. it is by the inhibitionists and is called things with wings. The pieces on the album are dedicated to and/or try to mimic 18 different birds. they were produced with the aid of various live and field recordings, guitar, recorder, organ, harmonica, a balloon, vacuum cleaner and drum samples all arranged and mixed on a computer by christian kann.

mandolin records are now operating from london. since moving there the lord mongo and the slate pipe banjo draggers single has gained a favourable review in the august edition of the wire magazine. the single is being kindly sold by the people at smallfish records.

a belated happy new year from mandolin records. mando2, the mandolin records compilation is nearly completed and should be available for purchase through this site in about a month. copies will be sent out for review shortly.

the slate pipe banjo draggers have finished recording and mastering their first complete album, seafood recipes. it will be the third mandolin records release, mando3. it will also be available through this site soon.

the mandolin records site has been running for a few months now and submissions for the mandolin records compilation have been steadily arriving. received so far have been a number of tracks by redTHumbs, fibule, october man, xenis emputae, prague and illuminati. more are in the pipeline from lord mongo, mauro from ouzel records and the slate pipe banjo draggers.
