what is mandolin records?

mandolin records is a record label that was started in order to release music and sounds made by people from anywhere in the world.

the type of sounds that are released on the label are loosely based around some or all of the following genres : found sound, ambient, experimental, dub, electronic, noise, dance, field recording, lofi and improvised.

the label is now based in london and music can be bought online through this website.

it must be stressed that this is a small scale label, with releases being made to order. this may change depending on demand.

the intention is for releases to have a familiar look about them to give the label an identity. words use the courier new typeface (as used here) and the discs are packaged in white cardboard wallets in plastic sleeves. some will have more elaborate hand made packaging if costs permit. have a look at the covers on the releases page to get an idea.
